About Us

Who We Are...
Formed in 1972 as a non-profit social organization under the California Corporation Codes, the Associated Blazers of California is a family, fun-oriented group open to all real four wheel drive, trail capable vehicles.

How We Are Organized...
At one time, the Association was comprised of many chapters, covering all of California and parts of Arizona and Oregon. We are now condensed into one Southern California chapter.

Annual dues of $20.00 are contributed for each membership, in addition to a one-time initiation fee of $10.00. All proceeds go toward future events, prizes, and membership materials. Each new membership receives Associated Blazer decals and a membership card. Officers are elected on a yearly basis.

Meetings are held at various individuals' houses once a month in order to visit with other members and plan future outings and events.

What We Do...
This is the fun part of the Association! Each month, at least one four wheel drive outing is planned. Destinations vary from desert to rocky terrain. These monthly runs can consist of one-day trips, "tail-gaters" (overnight runs where the participants sleep in their vehicles or tents), or camping for two nights or more.

Runs are as diversified as challenging the John Bull Trail, traveling the historic Mojave Road, or attending our biggest and most exciting event, the annual Half Ass't Run. We do it all--from running the san dunes to rock crawling.

The ABC has also participated in conservation activities with the BLM, the United States Forest Service and the California Department of Fish and Game. The Associated Blazers also supports conservation activities of other organizations such as CORVA and the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs. We have also participated in the annual Glamis clean-up project over the years.

And Finally...
The Associated Blazers of California is working to ensure that access to our public lands remains open. You can help by joining and becoming an active participant.
